Creation, exchange, transmission
A new workshop We wish to open a new space which, while remaining of place of creation and production, will also have an educational purpose for both visitors and students. With this end in view, we plan to open soon a new workshop in Fez, more spacious than our current workshop This new space will be widely open to visitors, for whom it should constitute a gate where to enter into the world of handicraft and a place where to exchange and discover the traditional fassi culture.
A school As an extension to the workshop, we dream to found a small school dedicated to the training of young weavers. Thus the handweavers' knowhow will be transmitted to tomorrow's masters.
A book In the future, we also plan to write a book about the history of the handweaving of figured fabric in Morocco and the weaving technics related to draw looms. This book will synthetise the knowledge which was gathered by Sy Hassan during his long years of study and apprenticeship.
