A recent visit to France allowed us to meet several researchers and weaving experts:   

Agnès Alauzet, specialist in velvet handweaving, to whom we owe the outstanding restoration (among other looms) of the unique European drawloom in working order;

Philibert & Virginie Varenne, who rule with enthusiasm the Maison des Canuts in Lyon;

Marie-Hélène Guelton, textile artist and well-known researcher, in charge of the technical textile teaching at the Centre International d'Etude des Textiles Anciens (CIETA);

Hana Chidiac, in charge of the North-African and Near-Eastern collections of the Musée du Quai Branly.

We are grateful to all of them for the very warm welcome they have given us. 

The great interest they shown towards our work and the information they generously gave us are precious.
